Paul of the Pasadena Historical Society edited the book in 1983 to remove the history of neighboring towns and extraneous detail, end of book has directory of the residents as of 1893 and where they came from.

945 - "Mexico Notes in the Margin" by Bess Adams Garner, stories from her extensive travels in Mexico, signed by the author, book number 315, author's inscription to the book owner Eva D. Edwards, December 17, 1937, the author was a founder of the "Mexican Players of Padua Hills", because of her lack of knowledge of Mexican culture she started to travel to Mexico, illustrated. "The Padua Hills Theatre was originally part of the Padua Hills Institute founded in the late 1920s by Herman H. Garner and his wife Bess. Their original intention was to foster and build a relationship with Mexico and their people." The theater shut down in the early 1970s.
