Cookbook, ""76" A Cook Book" edited by the Ladies of Plymouth Church, Des Moines, Iowa, fifth edition printed in 1880, first published in 1876, well used, many handwritten notes inside for food and household recipes. Index card inside book says; "Mrs. Joy's cook book contributed by Mrs. Geo. F. Kuder". Mrs. Kuder was a member of the Historical Society. At the GHS meeting held March 28, 1949, featuring pioneers in the area before 1900, many recipes from Glendora pioneers and their relatives were displayed, the first two recipes displayed are taken from this book, both were handwritten in the book, but typed for the display, first is "Fig Sweet Pickles" from Mrs. Lovell and the second is"Angel Cake" from Ella Poston. |
